  About the Author(s)
Candace Leslie studied music at Florida State University, education at North Texas State University, and writing at Southern Methodist University. Her magazine features have appeared in a wide variety of publications including Texas Highways, Scottish Life, National Geographic World, Islands, and Reader’s Digest, focusing on such topics as historic restoration, travel, environment, and culture. She is a member of the Society Of American Travel Writers and the American Society Of Journalists And Authors. Ms. Leslie co-authored Hidden Florida, winner of the Society Of American Travel Writers’ 1989 Lowell Thomas Award For Best Guidebook.
